1. Build community centres as part of iconic mixed use developments in each town centre.
2. Encourage quality development in town centres by introducing floor space and height incentives for design excellence, public domain contributions and quality development. Design competitions should occur for development in the Bankstown City centres and key sites in other town centres.
3. Encourage outdoor dining and late night trading of retail and food shops.
4. Encourage all day/night medical and pharmacy facilities in the LGA.

Safety is most important within the vibrant town centres as it promotes more activity which create more business and therefore more employment. It also attracts professional business opportunities where our locals can find work within our community when they finish their university degrees. Eg. Doctors, lawyers, nutrisionists, chiropractors etc.

I agree with the proposals already put forward, but I think we should expect that there will be Community Advisory booths in each of Council's areas, with access to commenting and proposing areas of thought in respect of these goals.
I have only recently become an Internet user, and I know of many frustrated Bankstown citizens who feel that their views are not canvassed or acknowledged. For those of us who do know about these issues, these forums are OK, but the involvement we have had with the Community Forums during April and July has given us plenty of opportunity to put forward our ideas.
Bankstown needs everyone to be aware, and as involved as they can, for it to be the vibrant City we envisage.

The library's online presence needs to be improved drastically and urgently. I want to be able to reserve any items online and be notified by email when they are ready for pickup. At the moment customers can search for items online, but then need to ring up to reserve them, unless they are in another branch. Totally illogical and frustrating. We are a decade into the 21st century! Notifications are currently sent by mail, not email, which shows a total lack of respect for the environment.
Reservations should be free, as is the case in interstate libraries.

Safety in the Community is extremely important. Safe Community Centres where people can meet for a variety of reasons should be in well lit areas and in easy access to public car parking and transport.
Keeping the city clean will encourage more business onto the area, we need consultation with business people who Want to make Bankstown their business address.
